Let's Talk Yak Chews

YAKKITY YAK...Let’S Talk Yak Chews

Yaks (Bos grunniens) are long haired mammals native to the Himalayan region. They belong to the family Bovidae; which includes Cattle, Bison, and Buffalo. Yaks are herbivores and they graze mainly on grasses, lichens, and herbs.

Yak milk has many health benefits. It is a great source of protein, essential fatty

acids, and vitamins and minerals. The fatty acids have higher levels of conjugated Linoleic Acid and Omega-3 Fatty Acids. These fatty acids decrease inflammation, improve heart health, and support brain and immune function. The Yak milk has antioxidant properties and contains Vitamins: A, D, E, and B12. It also contains important Minerals: Zinc, Iron, Copper, Manganese, and Selenium.

There are only 3 ingredients

The Yak milk is baked to form a hard cheese. They are odor free, grain free, gluten free, easily digestible, and contain lower lactose levels. Yak Chews can be given to dogs over 4 months old and are typically not a choking hazard.

YOU SHOULD ALWAYS SUPERVISE YOUR PUPS WITH ANY CHEW!

These chews are hard, flavorful, and long lasting. Depending on the dog, it may take hours to get a few small bites. They are beneficial in maintaining good oral health by eliminating plaque and bad breath. Chewing is a way for your pup to relieve anxiety, frustration, and boredom; while also providing exercise and strengthening of teeth. Lastly, when the Yak Chew gets down to a small end you can place it in the microwave for 30-60 seconds. This turns it into a “cheese puff”! Let it cool and let your dog enjoy.

"Vito Anthony (my BT) has been enjoying Yak Chews since he was a year old. We usually have at least two laying around at any given time. I would say he is an “aggressive” chewer and they last him weeks at a time. I have never personally had any problems with these chews, but I do take them away when they get SMALL!" - Anita
